Death of an Innocent
Joy Solano
The day I died
Was the day I laid with you
I let you wash away my innocence
And lick away the sweetness of my spirit
And though I died
Yet I still live,
My heart pulsates guilt
And pain guides my every step.
I have one solace,
One blockade to this never-ending plod.
My refuge is Christ
I hide behind His robe
For His robe is my righteousness
It soothes and softens my bitter soul.
So, although I died that unsought day,
Yet through Christ I live.
